Clues Are Not Enough

NaPoWriMo Day 20

(Using 29 words from prompt)

Eight unknown to those who seek
just names in the wind they go by…
miraculous would it be them to find
elusive, to their seekers they’re blind .

The Owl does his work at night
to abscond with what he can find
leaving only non-pareils as clues
the way his work is signed.

And Cyclops from the gutter came
with talk rodomontade
he does his work on open seas
upon the promenade.

Now Svelte moves with a willowy grace
but suffers a bilious blight
salt over the shoulder reversing his curse
left sprinkled out in plain sight.

Dunderhead works in the light of the day
mercurial traits do abound
inflated his ego does cause him to squander
but yet his identity not found.

Truffle has a partner Cheese
their sign is fungal residue
with twice the scent if they’re upwind
you’ll need no other clue.

Ghost did clove with Cowbird Man
both sporting locks with curl
tools run with generator on
leaves behind artillery sound.

With all this known no one in jail
these hooligans bewilder
perfected in the chosen work
law enforcement only blunders.

with owl generator abscond upwind squander clove miraculous dunderhead cyclops
willowy mercurial seaweed gutter non-pareil artillery salt curl ego rodomontade elusive
twice ghost cheese cowbird truffle svelte quahog bilious
